All 2019 Global Graduates start with a common Global Graduate Programme introduction week in Gothenburg (Sweden) on September 2, 2019.

- A Master’s degree, completed when the programme starts
- Maximum 1 year full-time working experience after completed Master's degree, prior to start of programme
- Fluent English language skills

 

A programme designed around you

For 22 months you’ll be fast tracked through the heart of our business. Your recruiting manager will be your sponsor and support you from start to end of the programme. Together you will design a programme around your strengths and ambitions, which consists of:

Individual career development
You will be supported throughout the programme by your sponsor and a personal senior mentor 

Regular corporate development weeks
Together with all graduates, each module focuses on different aspects of our business and your personal development

Functional and cross-functional assignments
After starting in you sponsor department, you and your sponsor plan how your following assignments will look like based on your individual development plan and from a timing perspective

International assignment
One assignment will be outside your home country and you will plan for this with your sponsor after you started the programme

Go out and see activities
Get a deep and broad understanding of the organisation by experiencing the market, production and executive management team environment

Graduate projects
Apart from working in operational projects and positions, the graduates also work together in groups on corporate assignments

As a Global Graduate you receive a permanent employment contract at the start of the programme, so a position within the company afterwards is guaranteed.

  Digital psychometric tests

March - April 2019

All candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the programme will be invited to psychometric tests conducted online designed to measure personality characteristics and aptitude.

  Online interview

March - April 2019

Shortlisted candidates will have a first interview through Skype with a Volvo Cars recruiter

  Assessment center & contract offer in Gothenburg, Sweden

May 2019

Final candidates will be invited for in-depth interviews and assignments with recruiters and hiring managers at an assessment center in Shanghai or Chengdu, China. At the end of the assessment, selected candidates will be offered a position in the 2019 Global Graduate Programme

Answers to frequently asked questions about the Global Graduate Programme.

  Where does the Global Graduate Programme take place?

The job ad describes where the different positions are home-based. If you need to move from a different country, we will of course support with a relocation package.

  How many graduates are hired each year?

The number of Global Graduates varies each year based on the demand of the business. The 2019 programme will accept approximately 50 graduates globally.

  How long does the Global Graduate Programme last?

Between 18 and 24 months, depending upon your personal rotation & development plan.

  Can I also apply for the Global Graduate Programme if I come from abroad?

The GGP is open to applicants from all over the world, who fit the graduate profile. You can apply regardless of your citizenship. A potential offer however would always be pending on the approval of the local residence- and work permit.

  Do I have a fixed-term or a permanent contract?

As a Global Graduate you will get a permanent full time employment within Volvo Cars from the very first day.

  How is the Global Graduate Programme compensated?

The Graduates within the programme will receive a salary according to the standard market rate.

  Is there a guarantee of a job at the end?

Since you get a permanent employment during the programme, all functions aim to offer interesting and challenging roles to their graduates upon graduation, providing they have performed well during the Global Graduate Programme.

  Is it necessary to have done an internship at Volvo Cars to apply for the Global Graduate Programme?

No, but it is not a disadvantage if you are already familiar with the company.

  Can I apply to multiple areas of the Global Graduate Programme?

Yes, as long as you meet the minimum requirements for each area, you are welcome to apply.
